Based at the Port de la Capte in Hyères, Randomarine operates as an itinerant diving structure. This approach allows the school to remain flexible, moving between the coastline, the islands, and the Giens peninsula depending on the weather conditions and the specific interests of the divers.

Managed by Ludovic Gallas, a DEJEPS qualified instructor with over 20 years of experience, the centre focuses on small-group diving. You can choose between departures from the beach, pool sessions, or boat trips to reach the more remote sites of the Mediterranean coast.

The centre is led by Ludovic Gallas, a state-qualified instructor (DEJEPS) with extensive experience in the maritime environment of the Var region. The school is officially affiliated with the FFESSM and the ANMP, ensuring that all training and explorations follow strict national standards.

Instruction is highly personalised, with a strict limit of four divers per instructor for scuba diving. This small ratio ensures a calm, professional environment for both beginners and advanced divers. Training is organised on a bespoke basis, typically requiring a minimum of two participants.

Randomarine offers a comprehensive range of FFESSM training programmes. Beginners can start with the Pack Découverte or the Niveau 1 (PE20) course, progressing through the various levels of the French federation system, including PE40, Niveau 2 (PA20 + PE40), and PA40.

Advanced divers can pursue higher certifications such as the Niveau 3 (PE60 + PA60) or the Niveau 4 (Guide de Palanquée). The school also provides specialised training like the PE60 and specific modules for those looking to advance their technical skills.

The primary vessel for daily excursions is a 6.20m semi-rigid boat, which provides efficient access to the local dive sites. It is configured to carry four divers alongside the instructor for guided trips.

For longer experiences, a catamaran is available for cruises. During the high season in July and August, these cruises are popular, and the vessel can also be chartered privately for groups.

The centre provides a full range of rental equipment for those not travelling with their own kit. The available gear includes brands such as SEAC and AQUALUNG, specifically for regulators and cylinders.

For those interested in technical diving, the centre is equipped to support rebreather diving.

The marine life around Hyères is diverse, with rocky reefs and seagrass meadows providing habitats for various species. You will frequently encounter Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), various species of wrasses, and Salema porgy (Sarpa salpa) moving through the water column.

On the seabed, the scenery is defined by a rich array of fixed life. You can find red gorgonians, sea fans (Gorgoniidae), and various sponges (Porifera) covering the rocks, alongside encrusting anemones and yellow encrusting anemones.

Macro life is abundant for those with a keen eye. Look out for octopuses, various species of scorpionfish, and Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani). Crustaceans such as Spiny lobster (Palinuridae), crabs (Brachyura), and shrimp (Caridea) are also common residents of the reef.

Larger predators and interesting residents like the Moray eel (Muraenidae), Dusky grouper (Epinephelus marginatus), and various species of sea bream (Sparidae) can be spotted throughout the local dive sites.

As an itinerant centre, Randomarine adjusts its daily itineraries based on the weather and sea state. This flexibility ensures that the best possible conditions are met for each dive, whether departing from the port or the beach.

Local conditions vary between the sheltered areas of the Giens peninsula and the more open waters surrounding the islands of Porquerolles and Port Cros.
