Mr.Diver Red Sea

Mr.Diver Red Sea has been a fixture of the Sharm El Sheikh diving scene since 2001. Now entering its 25th year of operation, the centre has established itself as a reliable hub for both local reef explorations and long-distance wreck expeditions.

The centre is based at Hollywood Palma Di Sharm, providing easy access to the marina at Watania for daily departures. From here, you can head out to the protected waters of Ras Mohammed National Park or the deep, current-swept reefs of the Tiran Straits.

As a 5 Star PADI and SSI affiliated centre, the team maintains high professional standards across all levels of diving. The instructors are multilingual, with English being the primary language used for all briefings and training sessions.

The centre caters to a wide demographic, from the PADI Bubblemaker and Seal Team programmes for younger divers to professional-level Divemaster courses. For those looking to refresh their skills, SSI Scuba Skills Update courses are available to ensure you are comfortable before heading out on a boat trip.

The training programme is extensive, covering every stage of the diver's journey. Beginners can start with PADI Discover Scuba Diving or SSI Try Scuba, progressing through to PADI and SSI Open Water Diver certifications.

For more experienced divers, the centre offers Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver Specialty, and Rescue Diver courses. Professional development is also supported through the Divemaster course. Specialist training includes the PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver course and Emergency First Response (EFR) or SSI React Right for safety and first aid.

Daily excursions are conducted from dedicated dive yachts. These vessels are equipped to handle full-day trips to remote sites like the Thistlegorm or Dahab, providing a stable platform for your dives.

On board, you can expect a full service including breakfast, lunch, and various beverages. The crew also provides warm towels and fresh fruit skewers to ensure you are comfortable between dives. Nitrox is available on board for those who require it for extended bottom times.

The centre provides a complete range of rental kit for divers who prefer not to carry their own equipment. This includes everything needed for a full dive day, from regulators to wetsuits.

For those specifically targeting the Thistlegorm wreck, full equipment hire is available. The centre also provides 12L cylinders and offers Nitrox 32%/36% in 12L and 15L volumes for divers looking to optimise their profiles.

The Red Sea reefs around Sharm El Sheikh are teeming with life. You will regularly encounter schools of Jack (Carangidae), Snapper (Lutjanus), and various species of fusiliers. Larger pelagics such as Tuna (Thunnus), Manta ray (Mobula alfredi), and occasionally Whale shark (Rhincodon typus) pass through these waters.

The reef structure itself is built from a stunning variety of hard and soft corals, including gorgonian fans and various sponges. Look closely to find colourful reef fish like Anthias (Anthias), Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and Parrotfish (Calotomus) darting amongst the corals.

For those interested in macro life, the crevices and sandy patches hold many treasures. You can find Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), various species of Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), and even the elusive Ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae). Keep an eye out for Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) camouflaged against the reef or small crustaceans and shrimp hiding in the coral heads.

Diving in the region is subject to varying conditions depending on the specific site. The local reefs around Sharm El Sheikh generally experience low currents, making them suitable for a wide range of abilities.

However, more remote sites like the Tiran Straits and the SS Thistlegorm wreck are known for having a high potential for strong currents. Divers should be prepared for drift diving in these areas. The Blue Hole in Dahab typically experiences gentle currents during drift dives along the wall.
