Flow Divers

Located on Koh Tao, Flow Divers operates as a PADI 5 Star centre providing a premium diving experience. The centre is situated at the Tarna Dive Resort, allowing you to transition from your luxury villa to the dive boat with ease.

Whether you are looking to complete your first certification or are an experienced diver seeking wreck or night diving, the centre focuses on quality over quantity. They offer a flexible scheduling model, moving away from rigid timetables to suit your personal dive plan.

The team is composed of professional instructors and guides who specialise in providing a calm, patient environment. This is particularly beneficial for nervous divers or those looking to refine their skills through a PADI Scuba Review or ReActivate programme.

Safety and small group sizes are central to their operation, with a maximum of four divers per guide. For those starting their journey with a PADI Discover Scuba Diving course, the ratio is even more intimate at two divers to one instructor.

Flow Divers also maintains a family-friendly atmosphere, offering specialised equipment for children and courses specifically tailored for younger divers.

Flow Divers offers the complete range of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with PADI Discover Scuba Diving, PADI Scuba Diver, or the PADI Open Water Diver course. Advanced divers can progress through the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and specialty courses.

Specialised training is also available to sharpen specific skills, such as PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy, PADI Underwater Navigator, PADI Wreck Diver, and PADI Night Diver. The centre also provides Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) Diver training and Emergency First Response (EFR) certification.

The centre operates a fleet of six modern dive boats. These vessels take you to the best pinnacles, wrecks, and reefs surrounding the island.

On board, you can enjoy tea, coffee, fresh fruit, and electrolytes to stay hydrated between dives. The boats are equipped to handle various dive types, including night dives and explorations of the local pinnacles.

The centre provides full kit hire using high-quality, new Scubapro equipment. You can rent everything required for your dives, from regulators to BCDs.

For training, the centre features world-class facilities, including a specialised 3.5m saltwater pool. This allows for a more natural buoyancy training environment before you head out to the reef. Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time.

The local waters are teeming with life, from large pelagics to colourful reef inhabitants. You will regularly see schools of fish, including jacks (Carangidae), snappers (Lutjanus), and various species of fusiliers. Larger visitors like great barracudas (Sphyraena barracuda), tuna (Thunnus), and various rays are common in the deeper sections.

During March to May and September to November, the area becomes a hotspot for whale sharks (Rhincodon typus). You may also encounter blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus) and other reef sharks patrolling the sites.

On the reef, the scenery is defined by hard corals (Scleractinia) and soft corals (Alcyonacea), alongside colourful sea anemones (Actiniaria). Look closely to find butterflyfish (Chaetodon), angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and parrotfish (Calotomus) amongst the coral heads.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to explore in the smaller details of the reef. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs, various species of shrimp (Caridea), crabs (Brachyura), and octopus (Octopus vulgaris). You might also spot interesting critters like ghost pipefishes, seahorses (Hippocampus kuda), and various species of scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae).

The diving environment is generally characterised by minimal currents, making it accessible for a wide range of experience levels. The most suitable time to visit the area is from March to September.

While the seas can become more agitated between November and February, the quality of the diving remains excellent throughout the year. Night diving is also a regular part of the local experience, with bioluminescence providing a unique backdrop for nocturnal marine life.
