Lombok Scuba Dive Center

Lombok Scuba Dive Center has been operating in the Gili Islands region since April 2019. The centre was founded to bring a high standard of diving to the Lombok area, focusing on professional service and long-term relationships with the diving community.

Based near the Gili Islands, the centre provides access to some of Indonesia's most iconic reef environments. Whether you are looking to complete your initial certifications or are an experienced diver seeking guided explorations, the centre is set up to manage both recreational and training requirements.

The team operates as a PADI affiliated centre, ensuring that all training meets international standards. Instruction is available in several languages, including English, French, Italian, German, and Chinese, making it accessible for international divers.

For those travelling with family, the centre provides a dedicated nanny service, allowing parents to focus on their training or dive schedules. The staff is geared towards providing a professional environment for all levels, from first-time Discover Scuba Divers to Divemasters.

The centre offers a complete range of PADI courses, beginning with the Discover Scuba Dive for those new to the water. For those starting their journey, the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses provide the essential foundations of scuba diving.

More advanced training is available, including the Rescue Diver course and the Divemaster programme. Specialist training is also offered, such as the Nitrox course, which is essential for those looking to increase their no-decompression limits. The centre also provides Emergency First Response training to ensure safety skills are integrated into your diving profile.

The centre utilises comfortable boats designed for stability and ease of use during trips to the Gili Islands. These vessels are equipped to handle daily excursions, providing a reliable platform for both training and recreational diving.

Onboard, you will find lunch and refreshments, including coffee, tea, and mineral water, provided during the trips. Nitrox is available on board, allowing for extended bottom times on multi-dive days.

A full range of rental equipment is available on-site, covering everything from regulators and BCDs to fins and masks. This allows divers to travel light, knowing they can access a complete kit for their stay.

Nitrox is available for use, supporting divers looking to optimise their nitrogen loading during repetitive dives. The centre also handles all necessary transfers within the Senggigi and Gili Islands zones.

The reefs around the Gili Islands are home to a vast array of tropical fish. You can expect to see large schools of fusiliers (Caesio), various species of snapper (Lutjanus), and colourful reef fish including butterflyfish (Chaetodon) and angelfish (Pomacanthidae). Larger pelagic visitors such as jacks (Carangidae), tuna (Thunnus), and Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus) are often seen passing through the area.

Sharks and rays are regular residents of these waters. You may encounter blacktip reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus), and various species of stingrays, including blue spotted stingrays. Manta rays (Mobula alfredi) and eagle rays (Aetobatus) also frequent the region, providing significant sightings for those on drift dives.

For those interested in macro life, the area offers incredible diversity. Look closely for nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), pygmy seahorses (Hippocampus bargibanti), and various species of octopus, including the mimic octopus and coconut octopus. You might also find garden eels (Gorgasia), ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae), and ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus) amongst the reef structure.

Sea turtles are a constant presence in the Gili Islands, with green sea turtles (Chelonia mydas) and hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) frequently seen foraging on the reef flats and sandy bottoms. The environment is further enriched by a variety of crustaceans, corals, and anemones that support this complex ecosystem.
