The setting is relaxed rather than formal, with garden and pool views, outdoor dining and a terrace where you can let the day dry off at its own pace.

The property is linked to The Coconut Collective, a group of places built around food, drinks and simple island entertainment. That gives your stay a useful bit of variety: coffee and pastries in the morning, mini golf when you fancy something mildly competitive, and a speakeasy bar for the evening. No need to turn every sunset into a spiritual event; a drink and a chair will do nicely.

You are in Nusa Lembongan, Indonesia, on Jl Jungut Batu, in a seafront setting on the tropical island. White-sand beach access is part of the layout, while Jungutbatu Beach is a three-minute walk away. Paradise Beach is around 1 km away, and Song Lambung Beach around 1.5 miles away, giving you a few different stretches of coast to explore when you are not carrying fins and a mask.

The immediate area is practical for a small island stay. Warung Bu Candra is around 50 feet away, with Warung Bu Edy and San Mig Loght within roughly 100 feet, while cafes sit around 0.3 to 0.4 miles away. Mangrove Point and the mangrove forest are around 2 miles away; Gala-Gala Underground House is about 2 miles away as well. The island is compact, but not so compact that every outing becomes the same walk.

For two, the king rooms keep things straightforward: air conditioning, a private bathroom in the Deluxe King Room, an extra-long super-king bed and views towards the garden, pool or inner courtyard. The Deluxe option gives you more room to spread out than the Superior version, which matters when a wet day has left clothing, chargers and the usual collection of small dive-related debris competing for floor space.

The Double Room with Terrace is the natural choice if you value an outside seat close to your room. It gives you somewhere to sit rather than immediately collapsing onto the bed, and the property also has outdoor furniture and a wider terrace. Soundproofing is listed among the general room features, a useful detail when your preferred evening soundtrack is the air conditioning rather than somebody else's playlist.

For a family or two couples travelling together, the Two-Bedroom Villa is the sensible configuration, with two bathrooms and enough space for four. Rooms also have a refrigerator, an electric kettle and a clothes-drying rack, which are the small practicalities you notice when you return warm, salty and hungry. Daily housekeeping, room service and luggage storage are available.

Food is one of Casa Coco's stronger reasons to stay put. The three named venues cover different parts of the day: The Little Coconut Café handles breakfast and lunch from 7:00am, with fresh pastries, coffee, ciabatta, pies, charcuterie and cold-pressed juices; The Coconut Hut runs from 8:00am to 11:00pm with international food, fresh beer, cocktails and mini golf; Nusa Bodega takes over for dinner from 5:00pm to 11:00pm with tapas, paella and cocktails.

There is one bar at The Coconut Hut and another at Nusa Bodega. The latter is a speakeasy-style bar with Negronis, shisha and flamenco, so your evening can be as quiet or as sociable as your legs allow. The hotel also has a snack bar, coffee house and outdoor dining area, while breakfast can be brought to your room.

You have useful options if gluten-free or vegan food matters, including imported cheese and charcuterie boards. Beach picnics and catering are also available, and a packed meal can be arranged for an island day. The breakfast selection covers continental, Full English/Irish, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and American choices, though the café's coffee service starts at 7:00am rather than catering for a very early departure.

The year-round outdoor pool is the obvious place to put the body back together when the sea has done its work. Sun loungers, umbrellas, a garden and a terrace give you several ways to spend an afternoon without turning it into an organised activity. Massage treatments include full-body, back, neck, foot, head, hand and couples massages, with wellness packages available for anyone whose shoulders have begun to resemble a knot in a mooring line.

Yoga takes place at sunrise on Mushroom Bay and is open to all levels. For something less earnest, The Coconut Hut has mini golf, described as suitable for the whole family, while the island-day excursion combines transfers, an island tour, lunch, mini golf and an optional snorkelling stop. Boat excursions, walking tours, cycling and local-culture tours are also available.

Evenings have their own modest programme: moonlit cinema on the beach and cocktail evenings at the speakeasy bar. You can also arrange a beach picnic at sunset on white sand. Getting to the island involves a fast boat from Sanur Harbour, with the crossing taking around 30 minutes. Door-to-door transfer services from a Bali hotel or Ngurah Rai International Airport to your accommodation on Nusa Lembongan are available, and the hotel offers an airport transfer service. Ngurah Rai International Airport is around 50 miles away by road, so the boat connection is part of the journey rather than a minor footnote.
