Abyss Ocean World

Abyss Ocean World is located in Pemuteran, situated on the north-west coast of Bali. This area serves as the gateway to the West Bali National Park, providing access to some of the island's most significant underwater topography, particularly the reefs and walls surrounding Menjangan Island.

As a PADI Eco Dive Center and a Greenfins Gold member, the centre operates with a clear focus on marine conservation and environmental education. The walls of Menjangan Island are a highlight, where you can find gorgonians, black corals, and large sea fans. The reef structure supports a vast array of life, including turtles, reef sharks (Carcharhinus), and various species of sweetlips (Plectorhinchus) and batfish (Platax).

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to explore, particularly at muck dive sites like Puri Jati. You can look for wonderpus octopuses, ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae), nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), and various species of shrimp (Caridea) and crabs (Brachyura). Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda) and various species of frogfish (Antennarius) are also frequently encountered.

Pelagic sightings are possible depending on the location and season. You may encounter manta rays, eagle rays (Aetobatus), and jack (Carangidae) along the walls. Between July and October, it is possible to see mola mola near the Nusa Penida area.

Conditions around Menjangan are generally easy, making it suitable for a wide range of divers. However, some sites like Bias Tugel can experience strong currents, and Gili Tepekong and Mimpang are known for intense currents and rugged underwater landscapes.

In other areas, such as Bat Cave and Temple Point, you can expect gentle currents that are ideal for a relaxed drift dive.
