Phocéa Bali

Phocéa Bali is situated in the authentic coastal village of Pemuteran, on the northwest edge of Bali. This location provides direct access to the Bali Barat National Park, a protected marine area that hosts some of the island's most significant underwater landscapes.

The centre's identity is deeply tied to marine ecology. Beyond standard dive excursions, the operation is actively involved in supporting the Biorock project, which is currently the largest coral reef restoration initiative of its kind in the world.

As a PADI affiliated centre, Phocéa Bali manages a diverse range of training programmes. The team caters to a broad spectrum of divers, from those taking their first breaths underwater to advanced technical divers.

The centre provides instruction in multiple languages, including English, French, and Spanish, ensuring clear communication for international divers. Their curriculum covers everything from entry-level certifications to professional instructor development.

The training catalogue at Phocéa Bali is extensive, covering the full progression of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the Open Water Diver course, with subsequent paths leading through Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver.

For those looking to advance their professional skills, the centre offers Divemaster and Instructor Development Courses (IDC). The facility also caters to the technical diving community, providing specialised training in Tec Sidemount, Intro to Cave, and Full Cave courses.

The marine life around Pemuteran is defined by the vibrant coral architecture of the Menjangan walls. You will find a rich tapestry of soft corals, table corals, and leather corals providing habitat for diverse reef fish. Schools of fish, including fusiliers, jacks (Carangidae), and anthias, move in large groups across the reef flat.

Larger pelagics and reef residents are a regular feature of these dives. Divers often spot sea turtles and various sharks, such as reef sharks (Carcharhinus) and whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus), cruising the deeper sections of the walls.

For those with an eye for macro life, the area is highly productive. You can find various nudibranchs, shrimps (Caridea), and crabs (Brachyura) tucked into the reef structure. The ecosystem also supports octopus (Octopoda), cuttlefish (Sepiidae), and various species of scorpionfish (Scorpaena) amongst the sponges (Porifera) and corals.
