Bali Breizh Divers has been operating in Sanur since 2010, serving as a central hub for divers looking to explore the incredible biodiversity of the Indonesian archipelago. The centre's location in Sanur allows for easy access to various diving regions, including the wreck sites of Tulamben, the high-energy currents of Nusa Penida, and the protected reefs of Menjangan. Whether you are looking for a relaxed reef dive or a challenging drift dive, the centre organises trips to ensure you reach the best spots according to the season.

The team is composed of qualified instructors capable of teaching a wide range of certifications, from entry-level courses to professional Divemaster and IDC programmes. They are multilingual, providing instruction in both English and French to accommodate international divers.

Safety and small group sizes are central to their operation. The centre is affiliated with PADI, CMAS, and FFESSM, and is an active participant in the Project Aware environmental initiative. For those looking for more than just a dive, they organise personalised safari packages that combine diving with Balinese cultural visits.

The training programme is comprehensive, covering the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with the Discover Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver courses, progressing through Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver.

The marine life around Bali is exceptionally diverse, ranging from large pelagics to tiny specialised creatures. In the open water and around the reefs, you can encounter Manta rays (Mobula alfredi), reef sharks (Carcharhinus), Whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus), and Blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus). Larger visitors include Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus), various species of tuna (Thunnus), and Jack (Carangidae).

The reef structures themselves are vibrant, covered in hard and soft corals, sea fans (Gorgoniidae), and sponges (Porifera). You will often see schools of reef fish, including various species of angelfish (Pomacanthidae), parrotfish (Calotomus), and triggerfish, alongside sea turtles (Cheloniidae) and various rays (Batoidea).

For macro enthusiasts, the area is a treasure trove. The sites are famous for nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), pygmy seahorses (Hippocampus bargibanti), and various species of shrimp (Caridea). Look closely for the blue-ringed octopus, ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae), frogfish (Antennarius), and scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), as well as the mimic octopus and various species of gobies (Gobiidae).

Seasonality plays a key role in what you might see; specifically, the Mola-Mola are most reliably spotted at Nusa Penida from July to October.

Diving conditions vary significantly depending on the chosen location. Nusa Penida and the northern sites like Gili Tepekong are known for strong currents and are better suited to advanced divers. In contrast, sites in Sanur and Menjangan offer calmer, more sheltered environments.

Tides and weather play a crucial role in accessibility, particularly at sites like the Sanur Channel and the various Nusa Penida locations. It is always advisable to check the local conditions with your guide before heading out.
