The waters around Bali are home to a vast array of pelagic species and reef residents. The reef itself is a vibrant habitat, populated by schools of tropical reef fish, including various Angelfish (Pomacanthidae), Butterflyfish (Chaetodon), and Damselfish (Pomacentridae). You can find many species of Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Pygmy seahorse (Hippocampus bargibanti), and various types of Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda). The sandy patches and crevices often hide Octopus (Octopus vulgaris), Frogfish (Antennarius), and various Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), alongside colorful Mandarinfish and Pipefish.

Invertebrates and smaller creatures are equally prevalent. Keep an eye out for Mantis shrimp (Odontodactylus scyllarus), Blue-ringed octopus, and various species of Cuttlefish (Sepiidae). The reef architecture is built upon a foundation of healthy corals, including Sea fan (Gorgoniidae) and various Sponge (Porifera) species, providing a complex environment for everything from tiny Goby (Gobiidae) to larger Lobsters (Homaridae).
