Based in the coastal town of Sanur, Neptune Scuba Diving serves as a primary gateway to some of Indonesia's most iconic dive sites. Whether you are looking to explore the coral gardens of Bali or the high-current channels of Komodo National Park, the centre provides the logistical foundation for both day trips and extended expeditions.

The operation is part of the Neptune World network, offering a structured approach to diving that spans from local reef explorations to luxury liveaboard cruises on vessels such as the King Neptune, Neptune One, and Komodo Sea Dragon. This allows you to transition seamlessly from shore-based learning in Sanur to remote offshore adventures.

As a PADI 5-Star dive centre, the team is comprised of professional Divemasters and Instructors who hold a combined experience of more than 100,000 dives. This depth of knowledge ensures that whether you are a novice or an advanced diver, the guidance you receive is grounded in practical, real-world expertise.

Safety is integrated into the core of their operation, with all guides being EFR (Emergency First Response) certified. The centre also manages a high volume of divers, hosting over 1,000 clients every month, and maintains a multilingual team to assist international divers. The training programme covers the entire PADI spectrum, starting with the Open Water Diver and progressing through to Advanced Open Water Diver and Divemaster levels. Beyond recreational certifications, the centre also provides professional training through the Instructor Development Course (IDC). Divers can also refine their skills with the Peak Performance Buoyancy course or prepare for more technical environments with the Enriched Air (Nitrox) course.

The marine life in this region is exceptionally diverse, ranging from large pelagics to intricate reef communities. You will regularly encounter various sharks, including Whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus), Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus), and Bamboo shark (Chiloscyllium), alongside Eagle ray (Aetobatus) and various stingrays.

In the deeper waters and around the walls, you can find large schools of Jack (Carangidae), barracudas, and fusiliers. The reefs themselves are built upon a rich foundation of corals and sponges, providing a home for colourful tropical reef fish, angelfish (Pomacanthidae), and butterflyfish (Chaetodon).

For macro enthusiasts, the sites offer significant interest. You can find a variety of nudibranchs, gobies (Gobiidae), and shrimp (Caridea), as well as more specialised creatures like the pygmy seahorse (Hippocampus bargibanti) and various species of octopus (Octopus vulgaris).

Seasonality plays a major role in what you might see; specifically, between July and October, the Mola Mola are known to appear in the waters around Nusa Penida.

Diving conditions vary significantly between the sites. In Komodo, many of the iconic locations like Karang Makassar and Castle Rock are known for moderate to strong currents, often requiring experience with drift diving. Nusa Penida also presents challenging conditions, with moderate to strong currents at Manta Point and occasionally very strong, multidirectional currents at the Mangrove site.

In contrast, sites like Amed and Siaba Besar offer much calmer conditions, with weak currents and gentle slopes that are suitable for beginners. When planning your trips, be aware that swell can make surface transfers long or choppy in the Flores Strait, and certain areas like Crystal Bay can experience occasional downward currents.
