Eau Bleue

Located in Cavalaire-sur-Mer, Eau Bleue has been a fixture of the local diving community since 2001. The centre serves as a specialist hub for divers looking to move beyond basic recreational limits, offering a structured environment for both leisure exploration and advanced technical progression.

The local waters provide a diverse playground, ranging from shallow rocky plateaus suitable for beginners to deep, historic wrecks and high-current reefs. Whether you are looking for a relaxed day of reef watching or a demanding technical dive, the centre's setup is designed to support both objectives.

The centre is led by Gwenaël Hanout, an experienced instructor holding E4 DEJEPS and BEES 1 qualifications. His expertise covers a wide spectrum of diving, from recreational instruction to specialist roles as a rebreather, Trimix, and Nitrox instructor, as well as a TDI Instructor Trainer.

Operating with a focus on small groups, the centre maintains a relaxed and professional atmosphere. This approach allows for tailored instruction and a more personalised experience on the boat, ensuring that every diver, whether training for a certification or exploring a new wreck, receives focused attention.

Eau Bleue offers a comprehensive training catalogue through TDI, covering every stage from initial entry-level courses to professional instructor training. You can work through standard progression such as Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water, and Rescue Diver, or pursue professional paths like Divemaster and Open Water Scuba Instructor.

For technical divers, the centre provides specialised training in Sidemount, Drysuit diving, and various gas blending and decompression modules. Advanced technical courses include Nitrox, Extended Range, Trimix Light, and more complex programmes such as Trimix normoxique, PTH70, and PTH120. The centre is also a specialist facility for rebreather training, offering courses for Air Diluent/Helitrox, Trimix, and Advanced Trimix, as well as instructor-level training for rebreather and technical diving.

The Maeva is an 11-metre vedette capable of carrying 11 divers. The boat is well-equipped for comfort during excursions, featuring a sunbathing area, a lounge with a sofa and video facilities, and a dedicated platform to make entering and exiting the water easier.

On board, you will find essential amenities including a toilet, shower, and sink, as well as a ladder for easy access. For technical divers, the boat is prepared for advanced requirements, with Nitrox and Trimix gases available for your dives.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit, including regulators, BCDs, and wetsuits. For those looking to dive technical profiles, specialized equipment such as sidemount gear, wings, and technical doubles is available for hire.

Shore-based facilities include Nitrox and Trimix gas blending stations to support your decompression and bottom-time requirements. The centre is also equipped with oxygen therapy kits and a first aid kit to ensure safety standards are met on site.

The Mediterranean reefs around Cavalaire are home to a wealth of marine life. You will frequently encounter various species of Wrasse (Labridae), Sea bream (Sparidae), and Bogue navigating the rocky structures. Larger predators like Dentex, Great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda), and Amber jacks are also common sights around the walls and reefs.

In the crevices and under ledges, you can find plenty of Moray eel (Muraenidae) and Conger eel (Congridae). The area is also well-known for its abundance of Groupers (Epinephelus) and various Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) that blend into the rocky surroundings.

Macro life and invertebrates are a highlight for many divers. Keep an eye out for Nudibranchs, Spiny lobster (Homaridae), and various crustaceans. The seascape is enriched by beautiful fixed life, including Sea fan (Gorgoniidae) and various purple sponges, which provide a vibrant backdrop to the dives.

Diving in this region involves a variety of environments, from shallow plateaus to deep wrecks. Some sites, such as the Sec de la Gabinière, can experience moderate currents, which is typical for the more exposed reef areas.

The availability of sites ranges from calm, shallow rocks like The Dattier to more demanding offshore-style environments. Divers should be prepared for varying conditions depending on whether they are exploring sheltered wrecks or more open reef walls.
