Diving World Red Sea

Located in Sharm El Sheikh, Diving World Red Sea has been operating in the Red Sea since 1988. As a PADI 5 Star IDC centre, the facility is geared towards providing high-standard instruction and organized boat diving across the region's most famous reefs.

The centre offers a structured approach to diving, whether you are looking for your first breath underwater or progressing through professional PADI modules. With a long-standing presence in the area, the team is well-versed in the local conditions and the specific requirements of the Red Sea's diverse marine environments.

The team is comprised of six professional instructors, including a PADI Course Director. This high level of expertise ensures that training, from introductory dives to professional development, is handled by senior staff.

As a 5 Star IDC centre, the facility is a primary hub for diver training and professional development. The instructors are focused on safety and education, supporting divers through every stage of their certification journey.

The training programme covers the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the Scuba Diver course, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver.

For those looking to specialise, the centre offers various PADI Specialty courses, including Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Night Diver, and Underwater Navigation. There are also courses in Drift Diving, Photography, and Fish Identification.

Professional training is a core part of the centre's identity, offering Divemaster training and the IDC (Instructor Development Course). Emergency First Response (EFR) is also integrated into the training curriculum.

The centre operates three yachts, providing access to a wide variety of dive sites around Sharm El Sheikh and Ras Mohammed. These vessels have a capacity for 45 persons, making them suitable for both large groups and more focused excursions.

Onboard, you will find meals, snacks, and water provided during your trips. The boats are used for daily reef dives, night dives, and dedicated wreck expeditions, with Nitrox available for those who require it.

For those not bringing their own kit, a full range of equipment is available for hire, including regulators, wetsuits, and fins. The centre also provides dive computers and can source unique pieces of equipment upon request.

Nitrox is available on-site for divers looking to extend their bottom times on multi-dive days.

The reefs are home to a vast array of marine life, including large groupers (Epinephelus), barracudas, and various species of snapper. You will frequently see schools of fusiliers, jacks (Carangidae), and batfish (Platax) moving through the water column.

Large pelagics are a highlight of the area, with sightings of eagle rays (Aetobatus) and various shark species. During July and August, the presence of certain sharks becomes more notable in the region.

The reef architecture is defined by incredible hard and soft corals, including various gorgonian fans and sea anemones. You can find hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) and other sea turtles grazing along the reef flats and walls.

For those interested in macro life, the sites offer plenty of variety, including numerous species of nudibranchs, octopuses (Octopus vulgaris), and scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae). Look closely for various species of shrimp, anemonefish, and garden eels (Gorgasia) tucked into the sandy areas.

Currents can be quite significant at several of the major sites, particularly during drift dives at Shark & Yolanda Reef and the SS Thistlegorm. Divers should be prepared for varying conditions depending on the tide and wind.

Visibility is generally good, though it can be affected by silt or sediment depending on the strength of the current and local weather conditions.
