DiveHeaven Lombok

Located in Sambelia, at the eastern edge of Lombok, DiveHeaven offers a gateway to some of the most preserved marine environments in Indonesia. The centre is positioned to access the 'secret' Gili islands, where the coral reefs remain largely untouched by the heavy traffic found in more central locations.

This is a destination for those seeking a quieter, more personal diving experience. Instead of the crowded dive boats typical of many Indonesian hubs, you will find a focus on exploration, visiting remote reefs and islands that showcase the true diversity of the region.

The centre is managed by Joshua and Meiko, who moved from Paderborn, Germany, to follow their passion for the ocean in Lombok. The team is composed of certified SSI instructors, supported by an experienced local captain and crew to manage boat operations.

Instruction is available in English, German, and Spanish, making it a versatile choice for international divers. The team focuses on providing a relaxed atmosphere while maintaining the safety standards required for all levels, from beginners to professional divers.

As an SSI affiliated centre, DiveHeaven offers a complete range of training from entry-level to professional levels. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the Basic Diver course, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water.

For divers looking to specialise, the curriculum includes courses such as Enriched Air Nitrox, Deep Diving, Navigation, and Night & Limited Visibility. There are also specific modules for Perfect Buoyancy, Equipment Techniques, Computer Diving, and even Sea Turtle Ecology. Professional candidates can work towards their Divemaster certification through the centre's structured programmes.

The centre provides full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit. For those looking to extend their bottom time or manage decompression more effectively, Nitrox is available for use.

Onboard during your trips, lunch and drinking water are provided. The centre also assists with organising transport from the airport or your hotel in Lombok to the base in Sambelia.

The waters around Sambelia and the surrounding islands are home to a variety of significant marine life. You may encounter sea turtles and whale sharks, with whale shark sightings typically occurring between March and July.

For those with an eye for detail, the reefs host pygmy seahorses and a diverse range of other small organisms. The local ecology is a strong draw for divers interested in marine biology and species identification.
