Terumbu Divers

Terumbu Divers has been a fixture of the Lombok diving scene since 1999. Situated directly on the beach at Sire (Pantai Sire), the centre is uniquely positioned within the Anema Villa & Resort, providing a quiet, beachfront base for your diving trips.

The centre serves as a gateway to the diverse marine environments of the Gili Islands, located just a 10-minute boat ride away. Whether you are looking for shallow coral gardens or deeper walls and pinnacles, the location allows for efficient access to some of the best reef systems in the region.

As a PADI 5 Star dive centre, the team is composed of qualified PADI instructors, Divemasters, and experienced boat captains. They operate with a focus on small groups, typically keeping boat loads to between 6 and 8 divers to ensure a personalised experience.

The staff is multilingual, capable of conducting dives and training in English, French, Mandarin, Indonesian, and Italian. This makes the centre a practical choice for international divers looking for clear communication during technical briefings or course instruction.

The centre offers a comprehensive curriculum of PADI courses, catering to everyone from those taking their first breaths underwater to professionals. Beginners can start with the PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver courses, while those looking to progress can enrol in Advanced Open Water, Deep Diver, or Wreck Diver specialties.

For divers looking to refine their skills, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Night Diver courses are available. The centre also provides training for Rescue Diver, Divemaster, and various specialty skills including Drift Diver, Search and Recovery, and Underwater Photography.

The centre operates two dedicated boats to manage its daily schedules. Sofia is a traditional Lombok-style boat used for trips around the area, while Terumbu is a smaller vessel built in 2017. Both boats are equipped with two recent engines to ensure reliable transit to the dive sites.

Each trip accommodates up to 12 divers, and the boats are equipped with freshwater on board for rinsing. The schedule includes morning dives, afternoon sessions, and dedicated night dives.

Terumbu Divers provides a full range of rental kit for those not travelling with their own equipment. The centre maintains well-serviced gear to ensure reliability for all customers.

Safety is a priority on-site, with DAN oxygen kits available and proximity to decompression chambers. The centre is also set within a resort environment, offering easy access to facilities for preparing for your day on the water.

The reefs around Lombok are teeming with life, from large pelagics to intricate macro species. You will regularly encounter green turtles (Chelonia mydas) and hawksbill turtles across many of the sites. Schools of fusiliers (Caesio), jacks (Carangidae), and mackerel move through the water columns, while reef sharks, including whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus) and blacktip reef sharks (Carcharhinus melanopterus), are frequently sighted.

For those interested in smaller inhabitants, the sites offer plenty of variety. You can find nudibranchs, moray eels (Muraenidae), and various scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) tucked into the reef. Look closely for the leaf scorpionfish, frogfish (Antennarius), and stonefish (Synanceia) amongst the coral structures.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, including various species of shrimp (Caridea), crabs (Brachyura), and cuttlefish (Sepiidae). The reef also hosts anemonefish (Amphiprion) living within sea anemones (Actiniaria), as well as various species of butterflyfish (Chaetodon) and angelfish (Pomacanthidae).

During the period from October to March, you may have the chance to see manta rays (Mobula alfredi) or mobulas passing through the area.

Diving is best experienced during the dry season, which runs from March to October. During this time, the water temperature typically stays between 28°C and 30°C.

Conditions can vary depending on the site; while some reefs like Sire Reef offer calm, current-free environments, other sites such as Air Wall, Turtle City, and Glenn Nusa can experience strong currents. Tides also influence the local conditions, and the centre's guides monitor these to select the safest and most productive dive sites.
