Manado - Tasik Divers

Tasik Divers is a PADI 5 Star dive centre located approximately 30 minutes from Manado, North Sulawesi. Situated within the Tasik Ria Resort, the centre provides a seamless transition from your accommodation to the water, utilizing its own private jetty for easy boarding.

The centre is positioned perfectly to explore the waters between the western part of Bunaken National Park and the island of Bunaken itself. This location offers direct access to the renowned reefs of Bunaken, Bangka, and the Lembeh Strait, making it a versatile base for divers looking to experience both vertical walls and famous muck diving sites.

The diving operation is run by a professional team including 4 instructors and 3 dive guides. To ensure a high standard of safety and personal attention, the centre maintains a diver-to-guide ratio of 4 to 1.

As a PADI 5 Star centre, Tasik Divers has been established since 2009 and maintains a strong commitment to marine conservation and local community development. The team is experienced in handling a wide range of divers, including those requiring adaptive or accessible diving arrangements.

Tasik Divers offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses for all experience levels. Beginners can start with the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to progress can undertake the Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster programmes.

Specialty training is also available, including the Nitrox course to extend bottom times. The centre also supports divers working towards their Master Scuba Diver rating.

The centre operates several vessels to suit different diving needs, including comfortable day boats and speedboats for smaller private groups. One of the primary vessels is the Anna Maria, a 14-metre boat capable of carrying 8 fun divers.

On the speedboats, refreshments are provided, including chilled fresh fruit. For longer trips, the centre provides freshly prepared hot buffets and traditional Pisang Goreng (fried banana fritters) served with chili sauce.

The reefs are characterised by a vibrant array of hard and soft corals, including Acropora, sea fans, whip corals, and various sponges. These structures provide a home for large schools of fusiliers, snappers, and groupers, as well as Napoleon wrasse and various species of parrotfish.

In the open water and along the walls, you can regularly encounter whitetip reef sharks, blacktip reef sharks, and eagle rays. Turtles, including green and hawksbill species, are also common residents of these waters.

For macro enthusiasts, the area is exceptional. You can find a vast variety of nudibranchs, including Shaun the Sheep nudibranchs, as well as ghost pipefish, mantis shrimp, and various species of shrimp and crabs. The sandy patches and seagrass meadows also host octopus, cuttlefish, and various species of flatworms.

During the drier months from April to October, the marine life is particularly abundant. You may also see larger pelagics such as dolphins and pilot whales passing through the region.

Drift diving is a frequent occurrence in this region. The dive centre makes every effort to plan routes that avoid significant upcurrents or downcurrents to ensure diver safety.

The best time to visit is during the dry season from April to October, with the months of June to September typically offering the most sun and warmth. The rainy season generally occurs between November and March.
