Kon Tiki

Kon Tiki is a holiday resort built around Polynesian-inspired Tiki Huttes, with a direct position beside Pampelonne Beach and a distinctly lively character. You can choose between accommodation for families and adults-only options, so the atmosphere depends rather more on the part of the village you book than on a vague promise of universal calm. Some accommodation may experience occasional noise from late June to early September, when the nearby beaches become notably more animated.

English is spoken by the hotel team, alongside French, German, Italian and Dutch. That matters when you are discussing a late arrival, a restaurant booking or the small practical details that become surprisingly important when you are tired, sandy and carrying too much kit. A concierge service, private check-in and check-out, and a 24-hour front desk keep the resort geared towards a stay where you can do plenty without leaving the property.

The hotel is in Saint-Tropez, France, directly beside Pampelonne Beach. The resort sits behind the dune, with direct access to the famous stretch of sand and the sea close at hand. Saint-Tropez is around 2.5 miles away, close enough for an outing but not so close that the resort turns into a town-centre hotel with a beach somewhere in the brochure.

Tahiti Beach is around 1.7 miles away on foot, or about 2.1 miles by car. The historic centre of Saint-Tropez is within reach by car, including La Citadelle, the old churches and the seafront cemetery, all roughly three miles away. You also have a minimarket, shops, a hairdresser and resort services on site, which is useful when the last thing you want is a supermarket expedition in a towel.

The accommodation is designed more like a small holiday home than a conventional hotel room: a living area, kitchen, private bathroom and air conditioning give you somewhere to spread out after a day in the water. A coffee machine and microwave cover the basics, while a private entrance and outdoor space make the transition from beach to bed less ceremonial and more practical. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

For a family or a group travelling together, the two-bedroom Tiki Huttes offer the useful advantage of separate sleeping areas and room to regroup without booking several unrelated hotel rooms. The beachfront version is the one to favour when the walk to the sand matters more than garden surroundings; the second-row option keeps you close while sitting just behind it. For two adults, the adults-only Tiki Kokoon has a super-king bed, while the Tiki Kabana uses a king-size bed and gives you a larger layout.

Air conditioning is the important night-time detail here, particularly when warm skin, salt and a full day outdoors have left you ready for sleep rather than conversation. The huts also include linen, towels, a shower, toiletries and a hairdryer, so your luggage can concentrate on the items that actually belong in a diver's bag.

You can start with a continental buffet breakfast, then keep food close at hand through the resort's restaurants, seafront bars, coffee house and snack bar. The choice is broad enough to suit a day when you want a proper meal and another when a quick coffee or something simple is the only realistic plan. Outdoor terraces keep the setting tied to the beach rather than hiding you indoors.

The restaurants and bars are part of the Kon Tiki village itself, so an evening meal does not require a drive into Saint-Tropez. That is particularly handy when you have been diving, swimming or simply spending hours in the sun and would rather walk back to your hutte than negotiate the coast road. A small kitchen, microwave and coffee machine in the accommodation give you another option for a quiet start or a light bite.

The resort also has a minimarket and grocery deliveries, adding a little independence to the restaurant choice. The food information gives no fixed half-board or all-inclusive formula, so you should treat Kon Tiki as a place with several eating options rather than as a single meal plan.

The Tiki Spa is the obvious place to aim for when your shoulders have had enough of carrying tanks, bags and the general consequences of an active holiday. Its 400 square metres include spa facilities, massages, body treatments, facial treatments, a sauna and a hot tub. There is also a fitness centre, fitness classes, a personal trainer and yoga; Pilates runs during the high season.

For a less structured afternoon, you can use the outdoor swimming pool, seasonal aquagym classes, the garden and the beach access. Mini golf, table tennis, cycling, walking tours and a games room provide alternatives when lying still has stopped being relaxing but a serious expedition would be absurd. Water sports, snorkelling, canoeing and hiking are also available on site, with the practical arrangements handled there rather than added to your travel logistics.

Families have a children's pool, playground equipment, indoor play space, a kids' club and entertainment in July and August. Couples, meanwhile, can simply take the short route to the sand, book time at the spa or head into Saint-Tropez for a change of scenery. From late June to early September, nearby festive beaches bring more evening energy to the area; choose your hutte with that in mind if early nights matter.

Check-in runs from 16:00 to 00:00, and check-out from 06:00 to 10:00. The minimum age for check-in is 18. Children of any age are welcome, with cots available for young children; there are no extra beds. Pets can stay on request, and cash is not accepted.

You can reach the resort by car and use the private parking on site; valet parking is also part of the service. The nearest listed aviation point is the Heliport of Grimaud, about six miles away by road. Saint-Tropez La Mole Airport is around eleven miles away, while Toulon–Hyères Airport is about thirty-three miles away. An airport shuttle is available as a reserved service, and a shuttle service is also available for local transport.

Free Wi-Fi covers all areas, and the property has an ATM, concierge, 24-hour reception and private check-in and check-out. Opening dates run from 1 April to 1 November for 2026, which makes the seasonal nature of the resort worth checking alongside your diving plans.
