Ocean Sun Dive Resort is a long-established, family-run operation situated in the village of Tulamben, Karangasem. The centre is positioned perfectly for divers wanting easy, shore-based access to some of Bali's most famous underwater landmarks.

As an SSI Diamond centre, the resort has built a reputation over 16 years of operation, having overseen more than 2500 successful certifications. The atmosphere is relaxed and Balinese, designed for divers who want professional standards without the frantic pace of larger commercial hubs.

The centre is run by a dedicated team of professionals who maintain a maximum ratio of one guide for every four divers. This ensures that whether you are a novice or an experienced technical diver, you receive attentive, personalised guidance during your sessions.

With a deep history in the region, the staff are highly experienced in navigating the local topography, from shallow reef flats to deeper wreck penetrations. The centre is also equipped to support the technical community, offering specialised support for rebreather divers.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of SSI training programmes, catering to every stage of a diver's development. Beginners can start with the Basic Diver or Open Water Diver courses, while those looking to progress can move through Advanced Open Water Diver and specialty modules like Deep Diving, Navigation, or Perfect Buoyancy.

For those pursuing a professional career, the centre provides the full pathway from Divemaster and Assistant Instructor through to Open Water Instructor and the complete ITC. Technical training is also a core component, with courses covering Decompression Diving, Nitrox, and specialised rebreather training including SCR Horizon and XR SCR Horizon.

The shore-based facilities are well-equipped for both recreational and technical diving. For those requiring rental kit, the centre provides a full range of Scubapro equipment. They stock aluminium cylinders in both 12-litre and 15-litre capacities, available in DIN and INT configurations.

Nitrox is readily available on-site with EAN40 mixes, and the centre is fully equipped to support rebreather divers with a dedicated rebreather station. For night diving, underwater torches are available for hire, and the facility includes dedicated zones for washing and drying your kit.

The local waters are known for seasonal visitors, with Manta rays present throughout the year. If you visit between September and October, you have the opportunity to see Mola Mola.

On the reefs and around the wrecks, you will find a variety of larger species. The area is a reliable spot for spotting various reef fish and larger pelagics moving through the water column.

For those with an eye for detail, the macro life is abundant. Divers can find a variety of smaller organisms tucked into the crevices of the Liberty Wreck and the surrounding coral gardens.

Diving in Tulamben is largely shore-based, making it very accessible. However, when travelling to sites like Nusa Penida, be prepared for strong currents that require advanced skills to manage safely.

Ocean swells from the Indian Ocean can occasionally influence conditions at certain points, particularly around Manta Point, so it is always worth checking the local conditions with your guide before heading out.
