Let's Dive Tulamben

Located in the Karangasem regency of Bali, Let's Dive Tulamben is a locally founded centre dedicated to the Tulamben community. The operation is run by two Balinese cousins who have built a business that directly supports local livelihoods, including employing local women and working with village fishermen for boat transfers.

The centre provides a gateway to some of the most diverse marine environments in Indonesia, from historic wrecks to dramatic drop-offs. It is an ideal base for those looking to combine technical skill development with a deep connection to the local culture and environment.

The team is composed of four professional instructors who are all locals. This ensures that when you are on the water, your guide possesses an intimate, first-hand knowledge of the currents, topography, and seasonal shifts of the local sites.

Instruction is conducted in English and Indonesian. The centre maintains a high standard of safety and personalised attention, operating with a maximum ratio of two divers per guide. This allows for a calm, controlled environment, which is particularly beneficial for photographers or those working on advanced training.

Beyond the water, the centre fosters a community atmosphere. You can join the team for shared meals, such as a BBQ, or enjoy live music on Wednesdays and Saturdays, making it easy to connect with both the staff and fellow divers.

As a PADI affiliated centre, Let's Dive Tulamben offers a full range of certification programmes. You can begin your journey with the Open Water Diver course or progress through the Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver levels.

For those looking to move into professional diving, the centre provides training for Divemaster and the Instructor Development Course (IDC). They also offer specialised training such as the Muck Diving course, which is ideal for those looking to master the art of finding macro life on the sandy bottom.

Trips to the nearby reefs and wrecks are conducted using traditional jakung boats. These local vessels are operated by community fishermen, ensuring that your dive excursions directly benefit the local economy.

The centre provides high-quality, well-maintained rental equipment for those not travelling with their own kit. On-site facilities include areas for communal dining and socialising.

For those staying for full days, the centre includes meals such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner. During the day, you can enjoy drinks like Bintang on board or during breaks.

The area is renowned for its incredible biodiversity. On the deeper walls and wrecks, you will encounter various species of corals, sponges, and gorgonians. Larger animals such as sea turtles, sharks, squid, and octopuses are regularly seen patrolling the reefs.

In the open water and along the drop-offs, you may encounter manta rays and various species of eels. The reef flats and shallower gardens are densely populated with a vast array of fish species and colourful starfish.

For macro specialists, the sandy areas and muck diving sites offer a wealth of rare life. You can find pygmy seahorses and other fascinating small creatures that require a keen eye and a steady hand for photography.
