Matahari Tulamben Resort, Dive & Spa is situated along the tranquil shores of Tulamben, a village on Bali's northeast coast. Positioned near the Lombok Strait, the centre serves as a primary gateway to some of the most iconic underwater environments in Indonesia.

Since its establishment in 2012, the centre has focused on the unique marine landscape of the Karangasem region. The location is particularly noted for its proximity to world-renowned sites, allowing for easy access to both wreck diving and reef exploration.

The centre is an SSI affiliated dive centre providing instruction in English. The team manages both the diving operations and the onsite resort facilities, including a restaurant and spa.

Training is structured around the SSI curriculum, catering to those looking to progress from initial qualifications through to advanced specialties. The staff is noted for being helpful and professional, supporting a range of diver needs from beginners to those seeking skill updates.

The centre offers a comprehensive catalogue of SSI courses. Beginners can start with the Open Water Diver course, with Advanced Open Water Diver and Deep Diver training available for those looking to expand their depth limits.

Specialised training is extensive, covering Wreck Diver, Night Diver, and Navigation. For those focusing on technical skills or precision, the centre provides SSI Recreational Sidemount Diving, Perfect Buoyancy, and the SSI Advanced Specialty Diver course. Safety and rescue training is also a priority, with SSI Stress and Rescue and SSI Respond Right Emergency First Aid available.

For macro enthusiasts, the area is a significant draw. You can find pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefish, and various species of nudibranchs, including Cyerce Kikutarobabai and Phyllodesmium Irimotense. Small crabs and other tiny crustaceans are also frequently spotted among the reef structures.

Divers should be aware of Nyepi Day, the Balinese Day of Silence, during which all outdoor activities, including diving, are prohibited for 24 hours. Beyond this, the local sites offer a variety of environments ranging from shallow wrecks to deep walls.
