Located in Karangasem, in the eastern corner of Bali, Amed Jepun Divers provides access to some of the most varied diving in the region. The area is defined by its dramatic coastline, where volcanic sands meet coral-rich bays and steep drop-offs. Whether you prefer shore diving or heading out on a local jukung, the proximity to diverse ecosystems makes this a versatile base for any diver.

The centre has been operating since 2015, bringing a professional yet relaxed approach to the local diving scene. It serves as a hub for those looking to explore everything from shallow, macro-rich reefs to deeper wreck sites and drift dives along the coast.

The centre is owned and operated by a Canadian and Danish team, fostering a professional environment with a friendly, family-run atmosphere. The team consists of five instructors, providing a structured approach to both training and guided excursions.

Instruction is conducted in English, ensuring clear communication for international divers. The focus remains on small groups to maintain safety and personal attention, whether you are completing your first certification or working towards a Divemaster qualification.

The centre provides a complete curriculum of training, starting with Try Diving and the Open Water Diver course. For those looking to progress, they offer the Advanced Adventurer, as well as specialised training including Nitrox, Deep, and Wreck diver courses.

Safety and skill refinement are also prioritised through React Right, Stress & Rescue, and Divemaster programmes. The instructors are equipped to guide you through each stage of your progression, from your initial skills in the shallows to more advanced technical applications.

Local jukungs are used to transport divers to various sites around Amed. These traditional boats provide an authentic way to access the surrounding reefs and wrecks, with local meals served on board between dives.

A full range of rental kit is available on-site for those not travelling with their own equipment. The centre is equipped to handle various diving needs, ensuring that your BCD, regulators, and other essential components are well-maintained.

Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom time on multi-dive days. For those staying on-site, the Jepun Hill Studios offer accommodation with kitchenette facilities and terraces, located just a short distance from the diving activities.

The reefs around Amed are teeming with life, from colourful hard corals to vast gardens of anemones. You will regularly encounter sea turtles and various reef fish patrolling the slopes. Larger pelagics, including sharks, tuna, and barracuda, can be spotted when diving the deeper walls and drop-offs.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to explore, particularly at sites like Sidem and Melasti. These areas are excellent for spotting nudibranchs, octopus, and various species of scorpionfish and frogfish.

Small, delicate creatures also call these reefs home, including seahorses, pygmy seahorses, and various types of shrimp. Keep a close eye on the coral heads and sandy patches for ghost pipefish and crabs.

Diving in this area involves a variety of environments, from calm, shallow bays to sites with more active water movement. Bunutan is known for having strong currents, making it a site suited for those comfortable with drift diving.

Many of the local sites are easily accessible from the shore, allowing for flexible dive planning depending on the swell and local conditions.
