Located on the volcanic shores of Tulamben, UDive Bali offers immediate access to some of the most famous dive sites in Indonesia. The centre is positioned just a two-minute walk from the USAT Liberty wreck, allowing you to move from your room to the water with ease. This proximity makes it an ideal base for both shore diving and boat excursions.

Since its establishment in 2018, the centre has built a reputation for high-calibre instruction, having trained over 15,000 divers and 500 professionals. It operates as a PADI 5 Star IDC and a Career Development Centre, meaning the training standards are geared towards both recreational excellence and professional progression.

The instruction team is composed of highly seasoned professionals, with an average of over seven years of experience and more than 8,000 dives per instructor. This depth of experience ensures that whether you are a student or a professional trainee, you are learning from those who have spent thousands of hours underwater.

Teaching is conducted with a focus on small group sizes, maintaining a maximum of four students per class and a ratio of three divers per guide. The team is multilingual, providing instruction in English, Chinese, and Bahasa Indonesia.

As a PADI Career Development Centre, the facility is equipped to guide you through the entire professional pathway, from Divemaster through to Instructor Development Courses (IDC).

The training programme is extensive, covering every level of the PADI system. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving and progress through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. For those looking to refine their skills, specific specialties are offered, including Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, and Night Diver.

Professional divers can utilise the centre's IDC status to pursue Divemaster and Instructor training. The curriculum also extends to technical and niche skills, including Nitrox, Drift Diver, Dry Suit, Search and Recovery, and Underwater Naturalist courses. For those interested in the visual side of diving, digital underwater photography and videography courses are available.

For dives away from the immediate Tulamben shore, the centre operates boat trips with a capacity of two passengers per boat. These excursions allow you to reach sites like Amed or further offshore locations. Nitrox is available for boat dives to extend your bottom time.

The centre provides full equipment hire for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes all the essentials required for both reef and wreck diving. For those who prefer to dive with their own computer, rental units are also available.

Nitrox is available on-site for divers looking to optimise their profiles. The centre is also covered by Dive Assist insurance, providing an extra layer of security for your diving activities.

The marine life in Tulamben is incredibly diverse, ranging from large pelagics to highly specialised macro organisms. You will encounter various reef fish, including snapper, triggerfish, and many species of wrasse and angelfish. Larger visitors such as sharks, rays, and occasionally dolphins or whalesharks pass through these waters.

For macro enthusiasts, the area is a premier destination. You can find a vast array of nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses (Hippocampus bargibanti), and various species of ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae). The sandy bottoms and muck sites are also home to mimic octopuses, wonderpus octopuses, and various types of shrimp, including harlequin shrimps and boxer shrimp.

The reef structure itself is vibrant, featuring colourful corals, sea fans (Gorgoniidae), and various sponges (Porifera). You will regularly see turtles, such as the Green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas), patrolling the reefs and seagrass areas.

The local diving involves a variety of environments, from sheltered bays like Sidem Bay to sites with occasional currents like Monkey Reef. Most sites around Tulamben are accessible via shore entry on the black sand beaches.

While many sites are calm and ideal for training, some locations require more experience to manage the movement of the water. Boat trips to Amed and surrounding areas provide access to different current profiles and reef structures.
