Jukung Dive Bali has been a fixture of the local diving scene since 2004, offering a dual-base approach that covers the best of both worlds in Bali. With one resort located in the tranquil, reef-rich waters of Amed and another situated near the high-energy sites of Nusa Penida, you can choose the environment that matches your diving style.

The Amed base is particularly well-suited for those focused on macro photography or those completing their initial training, with easy shore access to calm bays and shallow reefs. In contrast, the Nusa Penida resort places you much closer to the famous cleaning stations and deep walls where the larger pelagics frequent.

As a PADI 5 Star centre, the team maintains a high standard of instruction and safety. The staff are experienced and patient, catering to a diverse range of divers from those taking their first Discover Scuba Diving course to professional Divemaster candidates. For international guests, the team provides instruction in English, French, and Chinese.

Safety is integrated into every aspect of their operation, from clear pre-dive briefings to the maintenance of all rental kit. The centre also manages all logistics between the two locations, including airport transfers and transit between Amed and Nusa Penida, allowing for a seamless transition between different diving environments.

The course catalogue is comprehensive, covering the entire PADI progression. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving and move through to the PADI Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. For those looking to refine their skills, the centre offers Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep Diver, Drift Diver, and Wreck Diver specialties.

More advanced students can pursue the PADI Rescue Diver course or the Divemaster Internship. The centre also provides Emergency First Response (EFR) training and PADI Enriched Air Nitrox courses to ensure you are fully prepared for the technical requirements of modern diving.

The centre provides a full range of rental equipment for those not travelling with their own kit. This includes regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, fins, and torches for night diving. All equipment is well-maintained to ensure reliability on every trip.

The reefs around Amed and Nusa Penida are teeming with life. You will regularly encounter schools of tropical fish, colourful corals, and various reef sharks, including the Whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus) and Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus). Larger pelagics such as Jack (Carangidae), Tuna (Thunnus), and Giant trevally are also seen, alongside sea turtles (Cheloniidae) and Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus).

Macro enthusiasts will find a wealth of small creatures. The area is known for its Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Pygmy seahorse (Hippocampus bargibanti), and various species of shrimp and crabs. Look closely for the Ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus), Frogfish (Antennarius), and various species of sea slugs and molluscs.

The seabed and reef structures provide homes for many specialised inhabitants, including Moray eel (Muraenidae), Scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae), and various species of Stonefish (Synanceia). You may also spot the mimic octopus, Blue-ringed octopus, and various species of Garden eel (Gorgasia) amongst the sand and rubble.

In Nusa Penida, the seasonal presence of the Mola Mola provides a major draw for experienced divers. The cleaning stations at Manta Point offer regular sightings of Manta ray (Mobula alfredi) amidst a vibrant backdrop of soft corals (Alcyonacea), gorgonians, and sponges (Porifera).

The diving conditions vary significantly between the two main locations. Amed is characterised by calm bays and relatively low currents, making it an ideal environment for learning, night diving, and relaxed reef exploration.

In contrast, Nusa Penida is known for more dynamic and sometimes strong currents. Sites like Crystal Bay and Manta Point require a higher level of experience and confidence in managing drift, particularly when navigating the deeper walls or cleaning stations.
