Ocean Dive League

The centre is an official PADI IDC centre, led by PADI Course Director Martin Slisans. The team consists of experienced, multilingual international instructors supported by a well-trained local staff, ensuring that communication is clear and instruction is precise.

With over 30 years of experience in the industry, the staff focuses on personalised support. They aim to help every diver improve their skills through expert advice and a commitment to strict safety standards.

The course catalogue is extensive, covering the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with the Bubble Maker or Open Water Diver programmes, progressing through Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver.

For those looking to move into professional or technical territory, the centre offers Divemaster training, the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), and MSDT specialties. Technical training is a significant focus, with courses including Sidemount, DPV (Dive Propulsion Vehicle), and Tec Rec 40, 45, and 50.

Specialised training is also available for specific skills, such as Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Drift Diver, and Nitrox certification.

On-site facilities include the ability to organise accommodation and excursions to suit your diving schedule. Nitrox is available for divers looking to extend their bottom times.

The reefs around Amed and Tulamben are teeming with life, from colourful reef fish and schooling fish to larger residents like turtles and various species of sharks, including Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) and Whitetip reef shark (Triaenodon obesus). You will often find Grouper (Epinephelus), Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus), and large schools of Jack (Carangidae) or Snapper (Lutjanus) moving through the water.

For macro enthusiasts, the area is a treasure trove. You can find Nudibranch (Chromodoris willani), Ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus), various species of Ghost pipefish (Solenostomidae), and Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda). Keep a sharp eye out for the Pygmy seahorse (Hippocampus bargibanti), Mantis shrimp (Odontodactylus scyllarus), and various types of shrimp and crabs.

The seabed and reef structures are decorated with a rich variety of fixed life, including Hard coral (Scleractinia), Soft coral (Alcyonacea), Sea fan (Gorgoniidae), and various Sponges (Porifera). Garden eels (Gorgasia) are also frequently spotted inhabiting the sandy patches near the reef.

The waters of Amed and Tulamben are often protected from the seasonal weather patterns that impact other regions of Bali, making the area accessible year-round. Sea temperatures typically range between 27°C and 30°C.

While many sites are sheltered, divers should be prepared for drift diving in certain areas. The region's accessibility is a key advantage for those planning trips during different seasons.
