The residence is made for couples, families and independent travellers who would rather have a dining table and cooking facilities than rely on restaurant opening times every night.

The mood is practical and coastal. Air conditioning, a terrace, a heated outdoor pool and a fitness room cover the basics between excursions, while the beachfront setting keeps the sea close without turning the whole stay into a timetable. You can make coffee, sort out dinner, and let the day wind down without having to put on proper shoes again.

You are in Villeneuve-Loubet, on the French Mediterranean coast, at the Royal Cap residence on Boulevard Eric Tabarly. The beach is about 100 metres away, with direct access to Plage de la Batterie in roughly a two-minute walk. Plage des Bouches du Loup is around 500 metres away on foot, while Hippodrome Beach is about 850 metres away.

Marina Baie des Anges is close by, and the residence sits between Antibes and Cagnes-sur-Mer. That gives you a useful mix of coastline, marina and town access rather than a resort sealed off from its surroundings. Villeneuve-Loubet station is around 0.6 miles away, and Cagnes-sur-Mer station about 1.9 miles away.

For a day away from the water, Parc de Vaugrenier is around 1.6 miles on foot. Antibes is within easy reach, with the Picasso Museum about 4.5 miles away, while Nice is roughly 8 miles away by road to the main sights around Massena Square and the old town.

The useful distinction here is not a long list of room labels; it is having an apartment to live in. The one-bedroom layouts give you a separate sleeping area, a sofa bed, a seating area and a dining space, so you can spread out a little after a full day outdoors. They sleep up to four or five people depending on the selected option, making them more workable for a small family or a group sharing rather than two divers who want nothing but a bed.

The kitchenette is properly set up for self-catering: refrigerator with freezer space, dishwasher, microwave, hob, toaster, kettle, coffee machines and kitchenware. That means cold drinks when you get back warm and tired, breakfast before an early departure, or a simple supper when nobody wants to hunt for a table. A terrace or small garden with outdoor furniture gives you somewhere to sit rather than eating every meal on the sofa.

Air conditioning matters in a coastal apartment, particularly when the day has involved sun, salt and a fair amount of exertion. You also have a private bathroom with a bath or shower, towels, toiletries and a heated towel rail. The buildings have lifts, the rooms are non-smoking, and accessible accommodation can be arranged on request.

This is a self-catering address. The formula is accommodation only, with no hotel restaurant or breakfast service built into the stay, so you have the freedom to organise meals around your own plans rather than around a fixed dining room timetable.

The kitchen is the main advantage after a long day outside. You can use the dining table, the hob, microwave and dishwasher for a straightforward meal, keep supplies in the refrigerator, and make tea or coffee without leaving the apartment. For a meal out, Repaire de la Flibuste is about 50 feet away, while L'Indigo and La Playa are around 400 feet away. Snack and drink vending machines are also available on site.

The heated outdoor pool is the natural place to spend a non-diving afternoon, with a solarium beside it. It is open seasonally from spring into autumn, and its depth ranges from 0.90 to 2.10 metres. There is also a shallow children's pool, measuring 2.70 by 4 metres and 0.33 metres deep. Sun loungers and beach chairs keep the arrangement pleasingly simple: swim, sit down, read a few pages, repeat.

If sitting still starts to feel suspicious, the fitness room has free access. The surrounding coast adds rather more movement: kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, catamaran trips, jet skiing, boat excursions, water skiing, flyboarding and towable activities are all available in the area. Snorkelling, freediving and aquatic walks are also part of the local menu, while equipment hire makes trying something different easier.

On land, you can choose tennis, golf, cycling, walking, horse riding, swimming, mini-golf or thalassotherapy. Cultural outings include Villeneuve-Loubet's castle and museums, the Escoffier Museum of Culinary Art, Château Musée Grimaldi, Cannes and Nice. For a quieter change of scene, Parc de Vaugrenier is close enough for a half-day escape.

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is about 4.1 miles away, with a drive of roughly ten minutes. The residence is also reachable by car from the A8 motorway, while the TER stop at Villeneuve-Loubet provides a rail option. Private parking is available, and car hire can be arranged for exploring the coast beyond the immediate area.

Arrivals are organised on Saturdays between 15:30 and 19:00, and departures are by 10:00. Reception closes during the middle of the day and after 19:00, so an arrival outside those hours needs arranging in advance for access. An early check-in can also be requested. The residence operates throughout the year.

WiFi is available, and the apartments have air conditioning, heating and a lift. Laundry facilities are available on site, while daily housekeeping and end-of-stay cleaning are handled as separate services. Small pets are accepted, one per apartment, and dogs must be kept on a lead. Visa and Mastercard are accepted; cash is not.
