This is an aparthotel for divers who prefer a proper base to a single hotel room. You get a private bathroom, air conditioning and a fully equipped kitchen, so the evening can be as simple as cooking something familiar, opening a bottle and putting your feet up without dressing for dinner.

The residence also makes sense for couples travelling together, families and small groups who want room to spread out. Apartments and villas come with a balcony or terrace, while the larger villas add more bedrooms and bathrooms. It is a practical, self-contained style of stay: less corridor, more living space, and enough domestic machinery to make a longer diving holiday easier on the joints and the laundry.

Free WiFi covers the accommodation and the wider residence. A bar, gardens, seasonal outdoor swimming facilities and a wellness area give you somewhere to go when the day's logbook is closed.

You are in Saint-Cyprien, on France's Mediterranean coast. Plage du Pont Tournant is about 0.5 miles away on foot, with a walking time of around ten minutes; Plage de la Lagune is roughly 0.5 miles away by road. Saint-Cyprien Plage sits about 1 mile away on foot, or around 1.5 miles by road, depending on which route you take.

That places the residence near the coast without putting you directly on the sand. You can reach Le Recif in about 0.3 miles on foot, and Ascoli is about 0.4 miles away. Temple Beach is around 0.6 miles away by road. In other words, you have a few nearby options for eating out, but a car remains useful for widening the radius.

For a change of scenery, Parc de la Prade is about 1.5 miles away on foot. Collioure Royal Castle is around 9 miles away by road, while Perpignan's Palace of the Kings of Majorca is about 12 miles away. Elne railway station is around 5 miles away by road, and Perpignan–Rivesaltes Airport is about 15 miles from the residence.

The useful distinction here is not a glamorous room label but the choice between an apartment and a villa. A one-bedroom apartment suits a couple who want a manageable base with a kitchen and balcony. For three or four people, it gives you a separate bedroom and a living area rather than asking everyone to organise themselves around one bed and a kettle.

The villas are the better fit when outdoor space matters. Some have a private garden, and the two-bedroom and three-bedroom layouts give larger groups room to divide the evening between the terrace, the seating area and the kitchen. The three-bedroom villa is the obvious choice when eight people are travelling together; two bathrooms in the larger villas also make morning logistics less theatrical.

Every accommodation has air conditioning, a private bathroom and a kitchen with an oven, hob, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster and kettle. There is also a washing machine. That means cold water after a hot surface interval, somewhere to put dive-day food, and clean kit for the next morning's departure without turning the bathroom into a small laundry business. Towels and a hairdryer are included, and the homes are non-smoking.

The kitchen is the main dining arrangement, with a dining table, seating area and the equipment needed to prepare a full meal. For divers, that flexibility has a very plain advantage: you can eat when you are hungry rather than when a restaurant timetable decides that you are ready. The residence does not list a board formula, so you can shape the food side of the stay around your own plans.

From April, Bar El Canigó adds a more social option. It serves breakfast formulas, bakery items, speciality coffees, local drinks, organic juices, ice creams, crêpes and tapas for sharing. That covers the coffee-and-something-edible end of the day, as well as the moment when one member of the group wants a drink and another wants food. Food trucks are also available during the season.

There is one bar on site: Bar El Canigó. Nearby restaurants include Le Recif, Ascoli and Temple Beach, so you can eat out without treating every evening as a full expedition. The practical balance is clear: cook in, use the bar, or walk out for a meal when the legs still have opinions.

The seasonal outdoor aquatic area is built for more than a quick dip. It includes a large family pool, a children's paddling pool and a splash pad with water games. The pool operates from April to October and is heated from May to September. Sun loungers are available, subject to availability, which makes this a place for a slow afternoon rather than a guaranteed claim on a particular chair.

For a little movement without committing to another serious sporting event, you have mini golf, pétanque, beach volleyball, a multisports field, outdoor fitness areas, table tennis, a pumptrack circuit and health trails. Bike hire and swimming lessons are available from April. The surrounding area also supports cycling, water sports, hiking, tennis, horse riding and local visits, while boating is available nearby.

The wellness area brings the quieter option. You can book access to the hammam and sauna at reception, and L’Inspiration provides wellness treatments and tailored massages from April. Wellness access is for guests aged 16 and over. Families have a kids' club for children aged 6 to 12 during French school holidays from April, with sports, creative workshops and nature discovery activities, plus a teens' club during July and August.

Free private parking is available on site, with one space for each apartment and a private space for each villa. Electric vehicle charging stations are available, including access connected with the villa parking spaces. WiFi is free in the accommodation and throughout the residence. Pets are welcome, and children of all ages can stay; cots for children aged 0 to 2 can be requested, subject to the accommodation chosen.

Reception operates from Sunday to Friday between 09:00 and 12:00 and between 15:00 and 21:00. On Saturdays, it is open from 07:00 to 21:00. Check-in runs from 16:00 to 21:00, and check-out is from 09:00 to 11:00. You need to provide your expected arrival time in advance, and photo identification and a credit card are required at check-in.

A complimentary baby kit is available by prior reservation. Smoking and parties are not allowed. The residence is about 15 miles from Perpignan–Rivesaltes Airport; the station at Elne is around 5 miles away by road, and Argelès-sur-Mer station is about 6 miles away. The nearby dive centres mean you can base yourself here and arrange diving locally rather than choosing an accommodation built around an in-house operation.
